Making 2010 your best year….What I learned from Egypt.
Walking among the Great Pyramids in Egypt, I realized that what was built over 5000 years ago has stood the test of time because of vision and a goal, mixed with action and deliberate intention. We forget that in order to get anywhere or accomplish anything worthwhile like the Pyramids, all the souls involved in such an endeavor have to go through fears, frustrations, health issues, anxieties, dramas, family issues, and disappointments.
We forget that just because we’re going through some turmoil, these experiences aren’t just nuisances… they’re part of the things that create our story, what makes us interesting, what makes us who we are.
I had my own fears to face when I left– I had fears about leaving the office for a couple of weeks– that leaving would deter me from the million things I had to do, planning my talks, patients who needed follow up, etc. I have been afraid for so long that I didn’t go on a honeymoon because I didn’t want to leave the office!
Little did I realize that simply leaving the comforts of my home, getting a rampant case of what the Brits call “runny tummy” that affected us all, having some great (and sometimes not so great) experiences with my family and friends and meeting some of the friendliest (and yet most pushy, most aggressive, and sneaky buggers) people in the world would cause me to grow and learn so much about myself and others.
The highlight had to be witnessing with my own two eyes what the ancients could accomplish because of devotion to their beliefs, their mission, and their purpose. Walking amongst the Pyramids inspired me to share some of my thoughts of what we can consider when thinking about what we want to accomplish in 2010. And it made me grateful for the comforts of my home, my patients, clients, students…..and solid bowel movements (in no particular order).
If anyone is thinking of visiting Egypt, my suggestion to you is to be extra cautious when crossing the streets of Cairo! And get comfortable bargaining and negotiating! Thanks to Nazila, James, and Mo for making our time so memorable. Please watch this footage from the Pyramids and if you watch it till the very end…There’s a message for you from a friend we met at the Pyramids… Looking forward to your comments.

Dr. Nima,
2010 is the year for me and my family we are moving upwards with a healthy body, mind and soul. Not only has your trip to Egypt inspired me, but God gave me a vision to have a personal relationship with him, and to plant the seed of what He can do for people lives, and gave me the vehicle to help hurting people to live healthier, both physically and financially. As for me and my household we will serve the Lord, and spread the good news to everyone. I give thanks daily to God for introducing you and your Wellness Clinic to me, and helping me to live richer.
I see God working through you to reach out to people to help them, become more in tune with there body; through the different classes you offer, and how Dr. Nima you chose to continue to learn about the way the body works. Thanks for everything; pleased you overcame your fears.
God bless.

I understand how one would say that one of the wonders of the world would be so majestic. But the story is not exactly as you say. I would be naive to believe the story as you describe it.
Jewish slaves were imprisoned, enslaved and in bondage when the pyramids were built. It is with their sweet and literal blood, they were beat and many killed to see these pyramids raised from the dust of the earth.
Me thinks you gives the Egyptians too much credit.
Nima,
As always, your words have been very thought provoking, and made me really think about setting and persuing my goals. I hope you continue to share your words and encouragement with us, as I for one, have greatly benefited from all your hard work. I too, will one day have my trip to Egypt! Thankful for you…………………..
Cheryl
So much can be accomplished when we set our minds to it. The subconscious can’t tell the difference between what is real and vividly imagined, so imagine your greatest life and then as Dr. Nima says, do something every day (the action part) to move you towards this great life.
Thanks for sharing your visit to the Pyramids, this is on my bucket list also.
Hey Titus… thanks so much for your comment. There have been people in the past that claimed they were built by Jewish slaves. This simply can not be. 1) They were labourers (I’ve been doing research on it!) and 2) They were built THOUSANDS of years before there was an actual Jewish Faith.

But still… I appreciate your comments!
Much enjoyed this – your message is inspiring and uplifting, simple and yet powerful. As I communicate constantly to my patients and in my seminars and workshops – “we are the power in our lives to make ourselves healthier and happier.”
For 2010 I am launching an initiative to help women power themselves in healing from breast cancer. There is so much that women can do to support their healing and fully heal. I invite any woman – newly diagnosed, in treatment, or recovered yet concerned about recurrence – to get in touch with me. http://www.awarenessheals.ca or 604-467-1794
Thanks, Nima

Thanks, Dr. Johnson. I will pass the message along.
