Will this be a ballroom dance class?
No. This is strictly salsa. Ballroom usually has strict rules that are followed within the dance. Because true salsa originates from the streets, rules are thrown out the window. While you will learn basic principles of leading and following, you will be encouraged to put in your own flavour and go with the flow.
Don’t I need a partner?
While you may have a spouse or significant other you want to learn with, you will also be encouraged to change partners in the patterns, so you can get a better feel for leading and following with others. You will see how everyone has a unique style, and you will benefit from learning how to lead and follow with different people.
What should I wear?
Anything comfortable and presentable. Women wearing tight skirts won’t be able to move comfortably. Don’t be shy to go stylish..Have a lot of fun with it. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR SHOES ARE NON-MARKING!!!!
